Attendance Guidelines

Attendance

Parents are asked to call the school each day the student is absent.

Upon returning to school, the student must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. Please be sure that the note includes all of the dates the student was absent.

You may also email this information to sriley@nisdtx.org
Please reference the student's name in the subject line.

"Absences such as vacations and trips (except those excused by the principal for unusual circumstances), babysitting, working (including modeling), and non-school-sponsored athletic events and programs shall be considered unexcused."
per Student Handbook and Code of Conduct, page 21.

Please inform the school if your child will be tardy: 817-215-0850

You may also email this information to Brenda.mounce@nisdtx.org OR sriley@nisdtx.org
Please reference the student's name in the subject line

When your child has a doctor or dental appointment, please get a note from the doctor to excuse the tardy. If your child arrives after 9:30 a.m. without a doctor's note, it will be an unexcused absence; not an excused tardy.

A student will be considered tardy if they are not in their classroom when the 7:45 am bell rings.

If a pattern of morning tardies develops, a student may be referred to campus administration or ASAP officer to review possible interventions or consequences.

More information regarding attendance polices can be found in the Northwest ISD Student Handbook.

Excellent attendance is strongly encouraged.
We appreciate your support!
